Aseel and Children

Before her husband was killed by militia at a check point in 2006 in Iraq, Aseel and her two teenage children were happy and healthy. The death of her husband changed all of that.

Fearing for their lives, the family immigrated to Syria. Because of terrible conditions, they returned to Iraq after only three months and moved in with Aseel’s sister in Babiron.

Life in Babiron improved. Aseel landed a job as a teacher and her children once again attended school. This lasted for two years, until she found out that she had breast cancer. The surgery to remove her cancer was unsuccessful, so Aseel and her children once again immigrated; this time to
Jordan, where they currently reside.

Aseel borrowed money from family and friends for the trip to Jordan. The little that was left was used to rent a small apartment and pay for some of her medications. The family has no furniture, cooking utensils, refrigerator, or stove. They can only eat sandwiches because there is no where to cook or store food and have no way to heat their home. This family desperately needs help.
They are in need of basic household items, especially a stove and heating unit.

More importantly, Aseel needs money for her medical care. Her health is deteriorating partly because she is depressed over her family’s current condition.
