Appeals to Help Iraqi Refugees in Jordan

The Ibrahim Family

Jawan’s husband was kidnapped in 2005. As hard as they tried to locate him, he was never heard from again and is believed to be dead. Afraid that her teenage children would have a similar fate, Jawan immigrated with her family to Jordan in 2008.

Since then, her daughter, Sara, has become very ill. Two days ago, Sara had an operation on her kidney that cost the Ibrahim family 2,000 jds ($2,800). So far, Jawan has collected 1,200 jds, but needs to come up with the remaining 800 jds, plus more to cover Sara’s medication.

Should Jawan fail to secure that amount, her daughter will not recieve the follow-up care that is essential to recover from such a serious surgery.
