Appeals to Help Iraqi Refugees in Jordan

Torture, Kidnapping and Illness Challenge Hamza’s Family

leave a comment »

In 2009, the Iraqi army arrested Hamza. He was charged with spying and imprisoned for one month. After enduring much torture, he was released and he came to Jordan alone. After he arrived in Jordan, his 14-year old son was kidnapped. He returned to Iraq to sell his house and everything he had. He paid the ransom and secured his son’s release. He returned to Jordan with his wife and son. Hamza’s wife is deaf. The son is not enrolled in school.

In 2010, his daughter’s husband was kidnapped. Until now, his family does not know where he is. Therefore, his daughter came to Jordan with her mentally retarded baby. Now they live with Hamza.

This family needs help urgently!

As you see from the photos, their house has almost collapsed from multiple leaks. Their roof is iron and has many holes. One side of the house is no wall but is merely cloth.
