In 2007, Uthman’s son was kidnapped when he was 9 years old. Many times, he was threatened by a gun on his head. Now 14 years old, the child has continued to suffer from that trauma until today.

In 2009, Uthman’s father and brother in law were kidnapped. Until now, no one knows where they are.

In June of 2012, his mother and two of his sisters were assaulted in their home, where they lived by themselves, in Iraq. The two sisters strongly resisted rape attempts, and one was killed.

This is a picture of Uthman’s family’s kitchen in Amman.
