In October 2011, Irtija al-Mawsali’s husband left the house and never returned. Because of they are Sabians, their son and three daughters suffered abuse as well.

Irtija decided she could not live in Iraq without her husband. She was terrified for the safety of her children.

They receive no cash assistance from UNHCR.
