Abdulrahman Al-Atai fled to Syria in 2006 after his wife, a daughter and a son were killed when he was out of the house.

After 40 days, he was informed that his family’s bodes were brought to the morgue. He went back to see them, but unfortunately the news he received had been false. He returned to Syria.

Because of the deterioration of conditions in Syria, he returned to Iraq in August 2012. He then came to Jordan.

He is now 62-years old. His living conditions are poor (another photo). He recently was taken to the hospital for carbon dioxide poising as he is using firewood to heat his home.

He does not receive cash assistance from the United Nations.
