Refugees in Syria, Refugees in Jordan

Sami Basheer, his wife, his mother, his five sisters and his 4 children fled Iraq to Syria.

In Syria, an explosion injured Sami’s wife and and one of his daughters. The daughter lost her leg in the explosion.

The increasing violence in Syria drove them to flee to Jordan. Tragically, his five-year old daughter was refused entry into Jordan because she had a Syrian passport. Thus she remains in Syria.

Sami receives no cash assistance from the United Nations.

Sami and his family live in a miserable house. Its iron ceiling leaks. They have only two rooms. They are in great hardship. To top it all off, Sami is now very sick.
